Time flies. It has been almost half a year since I joined Accelerate. I have been a member to a few Crossfit gyms in Sydney already, and this place is, hands down the best coaching I have ever experienced since I started my Crossfit journey.
Not only I love the programming, which has a meaning as to why we do things at Accelerate, but the class delivery, the community and the coaching is top notch.
Matt and Kim are always there to help with anything and check on you. A special thanks to both of them for just being the best and caring for us members.
I can speak for myself and Gav when I say we are happy we found such a great facility to train at.
I have noticed great improvements so far and cannot wait to see what else I achieve at Accelerate.

When I arrived in Australia about 5 years ago, I knew diddly squat about CrossFit or any functional fitness for that matter but I really wanted to change my life and give it a go. I happen to stumble upon Shaun and Matt and their incredible passion for excellence in fitness and people! They took so much time in making sure my technique, skill and execution was perfect that I have been injury free since starting. Their passion was infectious and I am still training to this day. I have however moved away and sadly not attend Accelerate Strength anymore but now being at another box, I still think back on the fond memories and how these two men changed my life. I am now a healthier, fitter, mum and will be forever thankful for the wisdom and care Shaun and Matt showed me.

I was with Accelerate 6 months before leaving Sydney. I absolutely loved coming to this gym from the get go. Before I was just doing my own thing and not really getting any results with my "bro sesh" routine, maybe id do a leg work out in a week, but probably wouldn't.
Coming to Accelerate helped me achieve on a weekly basis what I had wanted for a long time and big changes were made by staying consistent and to a degree, accountable. I was always encouraged to improve and progress.
What I really enjoyed about coming though was this CrossFit community, The coaches and the people in the class were amazing, genuine people and I looked forward to going every time.
The coaches are fantastic with a massive well of knowledge, My fitness, form and technique were overhauled by these guys and feel great for it.

I only joined about a month ago, but I'm loving AS - it's completely transformed the way I train. I used to go to a gym and try to suffer my way through things like squats, deadlifts etc without hurting myself. In the end, I wouldn't get anywhere near optimal results and would leave with a moderate workout. At AS, from the moment you walk in, everything is designed to help you hit your best workout, but in a safe and efficient way. Great trainer to member ratio, every class covers all of the fundamentals of each movement so you're never out of your depth - and there are muscles in my body that are sore that I didn't even know I had. Shaun, Matt and Kim are very attentive and patient, especially with a newbie like me.

Accelerate Strength is undoubtedly one of the best gyms out there, CrossFit or otherwise. For me, what sets it apart is that there is a huge focus on quality of movement, not just quantity and volume.
Every single session is programmed with intention - whether that is learning new skills like handstand pushups or rope climbs, dialling technique, building strength or even simply just grinding out a big sweat session. The coaches are genuinely interested in the wellbeing on each and every one of us in the community which, I find, is not often the case in other gyms. Shaun and Matt have done an excellent job in cultivating a culture where we are surrounded by genuinely decent human beings that just want to get better at being strong, moving well and have a little bit of fun at the same time. 10/10 would recommend.

I've just left Accelerate Strength having been a member there for over 6 years, and I'm gutted I had to leave (I left the whole country so it's a pretty good excuse). I can honestly say Matt and Shaun and their coaches and the entire AS community has changed my relationship with fitness forever (I guess I didn't really have a relationship with fitness before I joined).
It's such a warm and welcoming community and if you're in or around Balmain you'll be doing yourself a disservice if you don't drop in and check it out. It's not your stock standard group fitness class, you'll get fit and strong, but also learn so much about what you're capable of. There's no way I would have had the physical and mental strength to push my dead motorbike up the hills to the mechanic if I hadn't just done sled pushes in class the day before! On top of that, the class is often the best hour of the day!

Great gym with amazing coaches. Started up here to get a bit of variety in my training and learn some new lifts outside of my standard bro routine. Big thanks to Matt and Kimbo for teaching me some Oly lifting skills and techniques, these guys are great coaches. Membership is pricey, but you get what you pay for here. The coaches regularly reach out to check in with you via call or text, which is great and shows they care, they develop good relationships with everyone that steps in the gym, and encourage people to socialise and meet each member at the start of each class. Sad to be moving out of the area from these legends and this awesome gym.

Out of the several gyms I've been a member of, I consider Accelerate to be the best. The trainers are highly knowledgeable and are always there to assist with proper movement, technique, and pacing.
Although I had no specific prior experience with crossfit workouts or olympic weightlifting, the onboarding process provided me with a solid foundation in the basic movements, which boosted my confidence and helped me fully engage in the classes. The coaching team is exceptional and provides easy-to-understand feedback, while also tailoring the program to each individual's abilities.
The gym has a welcoming atmosphere, with a diverse mix of ages and genders, and everyone catches up with each other before the workout. I am grateful to the Accelerate team for their support and guidance, and I'm excited to work towards achieving my fitness goals with their help.

Fact: the Accelerate Strength team are the best coaches I've trained with, period.
The knowledge, programming and hands on guidance provided is second to none. I've trained in a variety of fitness disciplines over the years with Accelerate being my first foray into CrossFit.
The technical aspects of CrossFit (Oly lifting and Gymnastics) demand proper form and technique, with CrossFit sometimes getting a bad wrap for the coaches inability to properly program/coach these elements. At Accelerate this is an absolute non-issue - Matt, Kimbo and all the coaches are there every step of the way to guide every member through getting better, no matter whether you are a beginner or a CrossFit veteran.

I didn't know I needed to do crossfit until I started at with accelerate in 2016. The place is great and the coaches make you feel like part of the fam from your first PT. All the coaches know exactly how to motivate you to get the results that you want, whether it's better form, mobility, nutrition, building muscle, weight loss / body composition. A/S really puts in the hard work for us so that we just have to show up and work hard (and dance).
In the past weeks since reopening from COVID I've hit about 5 PBs!

Accelerate has exceeded my every expectation of a ‘gym’. I was weary about whether I would fit in and keep up, however the community and culture that Shaun, Matt and Kim have created is that no one has to fit into anything but one self. I always come away feeling challenged, at my own pace and I have felt myself get stronger each week.
I haven’t experienced this level of care or consistency previously.
The team have a unique approach and mindset that pushes ones personal limits within a group setting, whilst still feeling that each workout is bespoke to every individual.
A must try for anyone who really wants to challenge themselves mentally as well as physically.

I've joined a few gyms over the years and I'd have to rate Accelerate as one of the best. The trainers know their stuff and constantly help with movement, technique and setting a pace. I injured my back moving furniture a month ago, and taking advice from Matt, Kim and Chris I kept up the workouts but in a way that helped me rehabilitate, and I'd feel much better after a morning session.
It's a friendly environment, we all greet each other and it's a real mix of ages and genders.

I participated in Kim’s 3-hour long olympic weight lifting workshop last weekend. The workshop concentrated on improving skills, fixing mistakes, perfecting form. It was hugely enjoyable and very useful. Kim’s every directive is insightful, he is both highly educated and experienced in the whole fitness field (and a top athlete). His coaching is razor-sharp in targeting our weaknesses and bringing out the best in us. For me, it gave a new impetus in my olympic lifting endeavours as I can now more clearly see how to improve, what I’m starting to do right and what needs to be changed or fine-tuned. Thanks Kim!

After 5 months at AS, this gym stands out for its switched-on, highly engaged and knowledgeable coaches. There is a strong focus and respect for nailing the basics and i have personally been able to fill gaps in my ability through the guidance of the coaches here. Feedback is consistent, timely & personalised. I really cannot rate the attentiveness of the team enough!
Excellent programming with a variety of mechanics, gymnastics, olympic lifting and strong man classes to supplement core crossfit training. Awesome, thorough onboarding for beginners and more experienced crossfitters alike makes transitioning to AS easy!

I recently attended an Olympic lifting workshop with Kim, and I learned so much in a single morning. Kim is an awesome coach. He has a way of explaining and demonstrating movements that really helps improve understanding, and technique. The years of experience are evident in his ability to provide feedback and suggestions that allow you to keep improving, even with you think you may have hit a plateau.
I highly recommend the gym as a whole, as well as Kim’s workshops.

Joined Accelerate Strength at the start of 2021 and settled in very quickly thanks to the incredibly knowledgeable trainers who are all round lovely people. It is evident through their training and preparation how passionate they are about health and fitness and you achieving your goals, whatever they may be. The Accelerate Strength community is also very tight knit and supportive of all levels and abilities. By far the best gym/fitness experience I’ve ever had and highly recommend accelerate strength for anyone looking to build a stronger, fitter and better you :)

6 months training at accelerate strength and I am stoked with my progression. The gym has a genuine community feel and the coaches are awesome at working with you to achieve your fitness goals.
I had never trained in cross fit or olympic weightlifting previously. During the onboarding process, i was guided through the basic foundation movements which gave me the confidence and know how to fully participate in the classes. The skilled coaching team provide easy to understand feedback throughout, and scale the program depending on your ability.

Love this gym. It’s next level when compared to the franchise gyms I’ve been to. The coaches really care and know their stuff. I was pleasantly surprised that they help break through limiting beliefs too. I had a shoulder injury and thought I could never do a handstand again. My coach made me realise that it was possible by showing me the steps and I almost got there first time. Above all, I felt supported, challenged but safely within my limits. Do yourself a favour and get better results instead of the short term promotions we tend to get sucked in by. (Not me in the photo, my coach).

I have been training at Accelerate for about 6 months. I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been and I love coming to the gym to train. All the coaches are amazing and so knowledgeable. The coaches are really great at giving context for every work out and are always helping you to become a better version of yourself. Since joining Accelerate I am enjoying training more than ever due to the coaches, great facility and all of the other members at the gym. Everyone is so friendly and supportive which makes training even more fun.

The guys at Accelerate provide an absolutely incredible space for my training. Their coaching has really educated me on how to do things well which has helped me so much in my progression in my training and their consults at the start of my membership showed that they really care about my health and my goals which is something I have not experienced at any other gym. Great environment to engage in group, personal and self-driven training. Staff are exceptional, equipment is is great shape, they have a kids area and get a nanny in to support parents. Classes are perfectly managed numbers wise. I really came into it not loving exercise but acknowledge that it is required to continue living. The owners are staff make classes fun! Also they do a trip to Bali every year and would recommend. My husband and I didn’t renew our contracts because we moved to another city. I hope we find a gym half this great in our new area. Also my greyhound was always made to feel welcome.

What a gym! Best Crossfit box I've ever trained at. I was staying in the area (looking at relocating to NSW) and decided to try Accelerate. From initial enquiry, owner Quint was magnificent. Shoutout to coaches Em and Rami too for bringing the vibes and expertise! Super accomodating and kind, and even looked after my (retiree) parents who were looking for an open gym to train at. I cannot recommend Accelerate Strength enough. I would move to the area just so that I could continue to train here.
